Under the patronage of President Bashar al-Assad, activities of 13th Conference of Arab Businessmen and Investors opened Wednesday 3 March, 2010 under the title "Investment in Syria: Originality and Opportunities" at the Umayyad Palace for Conferences. It continued over two days with the participation of more than 1000 Arab businessmen and investors.

Africa is lagging behind the rest of the world in developing renewable energy projects with initiatives aimed at producing clean and ‘green’ energy remaining largely under-exploited, warned a new report released on March 3 by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

Arab food security gap hits $ 1 billion – Report


According to a report issued by Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Sudan and prepared by Abdul Latif Al-Ajami, Under-Secretary Ministry of Agriculture in Sudan, the food gab in the Arab world reached about $ 20 billion. This gab is divided as follows: grains 50 %, wheat 22 %, maize 10 %, rice 9 %, barley 8%, meat 11%, dairy products 15% and legumes 2.3 %.
