ICCI to hold the meetings of General Assembly and Board of Directors due April in Qatar

Believing in the importance of communications among the federations of commerce chambers in the OIC member countries for the sake of achieving the goals of the Ten-Year Work plan of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce& Industry (ICCI), and upon the instructions of H.E Sheikh Saleh Kamel, President of the Islamic Chamber, the ordinary meetings of ICCI including the 26th meeting of the General Assembly and Board of Directors will be held in Doha during the period 3 – 4 April, 2010.

The meetings are expected to be attended by a large number of OIC member States for example: Egypt, Iran, Jordan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan, Syria, Tunisia, Niger, Uganda, Sudan, Kuwait, Benin and Oman.
During the meetings, the members of the General Assembly will review what had been achieved in Chamber’s projects and express their view on the success of these projects which include: the International Zakat Organization, OIC Information Network, Business Owners Union, Istikhlaf Bank, International Islamic Company for Exploration of Investment Opportunities (Foras) including Company for Promotion of Inter-Islamic Tourism, Company for Recruitment and Employment of Labor and Company for the Development of Infrastructure.
The draft agenda will also review the activities of the General Secretariat for Media & Information of the ICCI, the activities of General Secretariat of the ICCI in Karachi, and the forthcoming events of the ICCI.
The Islamic Chamber is an affiliated organ of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and represents the private sector of 58 member countries. Its membership is comprised of the National Chambers/Unions/Federations of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the member countries.
It is worthy to mention that a lot of goals of the Ten- Year work plan drawn up by H.E Sheikh Saleh Kamel had been accomplished since assuming the presidency of the Islamic Chamber.
