Joint projects to increase the volume of mutual investments between Egypt and Turkmenistan

The Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Fayza Abu -El Naga received Mr. Kumikov Toili, Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan who visits Egypt in within the framework of the round of the political consultations between the two countries, accompanied by a delegation comprising Mohamed Ablakov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Riyadh in preparation for the impending visit of the President of the Republic of Turkmenistan to Cairo next June.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the position of economic, scientific, and technical cooperation between the two countries. They also discussed the recommendations extracted from the meetings of the first session of the Joint Egyptian-Turkmen Commission of Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.

In this context, they discussed the ways of modernizing the contractual framework of the Turkmen-Egyptian relations, and the possibility of signing a number of cooperation agreements between the two countries during the coming presidential visit, key among them is updating the agreement of Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation signed in May 1995, in addition to a number of other conventions in the fields of health, tourism, cooperation between the federation of Commerce Chambers of the two countries, protection of investment, and avoiding tax duplication. 

The Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation and the Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan stressed the importance of creating a mechanism to enhance and develop trade ties and encourage businessmen of the two countries to exchange business visits and establish joint projects so as to increase the size of mutual investments between the two sides.
